MPI is introducing a $750 deductible extension product. This add-on can help reduce your out-of-pocket exposure in the event of a claim. It's worth asking your broker whether it makes sense for your situation — not everyone needs it, but for some drivers it's a smart move.

Good News for Safe Drivers: DSR +20 Discounts

If you've built up a strong driving record, 2026 could actually work in your favour.

Drivers at DSR +20 (the highest safe driver rating) may qualify for bigger discounts — up to 53–55% off their premiums. If you've been driving safely for years and haven't reviewed your discount level recently, now is a great time to check.

What About the Overall Rate Change?

MPI has indicated an average rate increase of approximately $22/year for most drivers. That's relatively modest — but it's still a reason to review your full coverage picture rather than just auto-renewing.
